JBU Visual Arts Department
5 Instagram accounts, 3 Facebook pages, updating multiple website pages, and a YouTube.
The Instagram accounts are where I developed the most strategy for social media with weekly posting plans, takeovers, and reels. Every few weeks the professors and I would reevaluate what was getting traffic and how to get more traffic to cater to our high school audience.
Instagrams that I ran for the department:
My job is primarily self-initiated. I come up with ideas and create the content to execute them. I coordinate times to go in and photograph classes that would be interesting to showcase, I contact students in order to set up shoots with them about their majors or projects, and I talk to the professors about events and receive their feedback. Not many people keep me accountable but my work ethic helps drive me to excell in these areas that I have been hired to work in.
Some accomplishments/things I added to the VA social media:
the Graphic Design Instagram Account
A day-to-day plan for every single Instagram, not just the VA account
A team of 5 format which expanded the capacity of content development and communication on each account
Plenty of photography of classes, gear, and student life
A posting structure, hashtags, and campaigns that grew followers at a 100% rate increase.
I photographed most of the content, edit, and posted five days a week. I conducted interview videos of students as well as conducted a couple promotions to reach more people. My job was more than just producing content, but also brainstorming ways to market to prospective students in order to increase amount of students in the department. I trained my successor for when I graduated, and with her built a social media team structure and helped hire five people for the following year to reach further than what historically one person did.
